Our mission Is to ensure that all children and young people who access our service develop - not only the practical life skills they will need in their adult life, but also to discover and build on the passion and strengths they possess.

​

The foundation of our service is based on truly understanding our own emotions and physiology, as it is our belief that this knowledge, alongside an understanding of the ever-changing world around us and the impact of how these elements intertwine, will help us all truly thrive in life and reach our potential.

When children and young people come to us, they will learn about themselves, become comfortable in their own skin, and leave us with the confidence, tools, skills, and aspirations to find and live their own individual purpose.

THE EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME

The Empowerment Programme has been tried, tested, and proven to be effective for supporting positive mental health, wellbeing, and personal development for children and young people over the past four years in schools and colleges across Wirral and Merseyside.

After 15+ years of meticulous refinement alongside children and young people, both Neurotypical and Neurodiverse, this program stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence. While our understanding of ourselves and the world grows, the core methodology remains steadfast, ensuring unparalleled efficacy, relevance, and holistic development.

Through our programme, we not only address mental health and wellbeing but also nurture essential life skills, self-awareness, and resilience, empowering each child and young person to reach their full potential.

This can be delivered in the JC Wellbeing Community Hub or in a school environment setting.

The Empowerment Programme is fully focused on personal development, designed to equip young people with essential life skills that aren't typically covered in school.

 

Through engaging, interactive modules, students will learn how to take control of their mind, body, and emotions, giving them the confidence to navigate life’s challenges.

 

From brain fitness and stress management to mastering sleep, nutrition, and emotional resilience, the programme helps participants build a stronger relationship with themselves and their future.

What does personal development mean?

​

The Empowerment Programme covers key aspects of personal growth, with a focus on the important connection between physiology and psychology. Understanding how the breath, heart, and brain work together is key to building self-awareness and managing both physical and mental health.

 

The programme includes:

​

  • Resilience building: Learning how to bounce back from challenges and stay strong in difficult situations.

  • Growth mindset: Understanding that abilities can develop through dedication and effort, empowering students to overcome obstacles.

  • Mental and physical health: Developing healthy habits that support overall wellbeing and learning how breath, heart rate, and brain function are interconnected.

  • Relationship building: Enhancing communication skills and understanding how to create and nurture positive relationships.

  • Social and emotional understanding: Recognising emotions in oneself and others and learning how to navigate social interactions with empathy and confidence.

  • Emotional regulation: Gaining tools to manage emotions effectively through techniques like breath control, which influence both the heart and brain.

  • Self-discovery and acceptance: Encouraging students to explore who they are, embrace their unique qualities, and grow towards their full potential.

Through this holistic approach, integrating the physiological and psychological aspects of personal development, students will leave the Empowerment Programme with a deeper understanding of themselves and the tools to thrive in life.

JC Wellbeing currently runs the Empowerment Programme in both schools and our Health & Wellbeing Community Centre.

 

Whether delivered in an educational setting or at our centre, the programme is designed to support the personal development, mental health, and resilience of children and young people, equipping them with essential life skills to thrive.
